LICENSURE FOR COUNSELORS

Working Towards a Better Tomorrow

As a Professional Christian Counselor, you must decide if you want to provide counsel as a representative of the State or as a representative of the Body of Christ.

If your goal is to fulfill God’s calling on your life, to counsel and minister the brokenhearted, engaging the Holy Scriptures, prayer, and faith, then the I.C.C.C.C. Licensure may be a good fit.

Licensure for Counselors: About Us

The International Counselors Commission Licensure is NOT a state license, not the same as state licensure, nor a replacement for a state license. It is something noticeably different

Counselors licensed by the State are held to specific standards that mandate an individual’s right to be free from religious influence. In certain states, the State-licensed professional counselor is forbidden to pray, read or refer to the Bible unless the counselee initiates or requests counsel in this area.

Differing from that, Pastoral and Biblical counselors must pray, share their faith, read the Bible, etc. The composing elements involving Biblical Counseling craft the dissimilarities from the secular counseling.

By no means here at I.C.C.C.C. we are undermining the State governing laws that help to safeguard the public and warrant proficiency within the counseling profession.

The goal of I.C.C.C.C. is to offer an alternative to State licensing to Professional Biblical Counselors that can demonstrate the competency required to be a counselor for the Christian Community while keeping in compliance with the state laws.
